All tops and backsplashes listed are handcrafted with solid hard rock maple and have an oil finish. Oil finish is recommended if the top is used as a cutting surface. Re-oil the tops every 4-6 weeks. Maple tops are also available with a Varnique® finish, call for details. Varnique® is a beautiful semi-gloss finish, virtually maintenance free. It is impervious to most household chemicals and cleans up easily with mild soap and water. Tops are also available in Appalachian red oak with an Oil or Varnique® finish. Other species are available as special order: Cherry and Black Walnut
